The Ultimate Acupuncture Program to Stop Smoking
There are three ways of how acupuncture helps to stop smoking.
- Calms the nervous system
- Reduces cravings
- Detox the lungs and other vital organs
Dr. Martin uses an auricular (ear) acupuncture program called N.A.D.A. protocol. This protocol has been successfully used by tens of thousands of patients addicted to various substances including tobacco.
What is involved in the Acupuncture Stop Smoking Protocol?
Our program consists of five acupuncture treatments. During your first appointment she will perform a physical examination including blood pressure, lung examination, and Traditional Chinese methods like the observation of the tongue and TCM wrist pulses and discuss your health history. During this session she will determine the individualized treatment that you will receive. According to your TCM diagnosis she will use a combination of acupuncture body points, auricular points and electrical stimulation.
Occasionally Dr. Martin will do hypnotherapy as an additional 30 minute session.
To quit smoking usually it takes only four (30 minute) follow up treatments scheduled every other day. Occasionally 1 hour treatments that include cupping will bring additional health and well being benefits. We recommend monthly maintenance treatments for four to six month including auricular points since patients generally look forward to the benefits they receive from acupuncture treatment.
Additional Methods of Treatment
Usually patients are prescribed Chinese herbs according to their individualized treatment plan and supplements to reduce cravings, withdrawal symptoms, and heal your lungs. Exercise is encouraged and specific dietary recommendations.
The supplement you will need to purchase on your own before your treatment are vitamin A, vitamin E, B-Complex, and Zinc. You may purchase the vitamin C, MSM and Chinese Herbals Formulas from our office.
Very Important DO NOT SMOKE ON THE FIRST DAY OF TREATMENT
